Furugh Switzer, M.Ed.

LFurugh is a Persian/Canadian Sociologist, Inter-Cultural Educator, workshop leader, lecturer, trainer, director and Life-Skills Coach.  She is trained in Imago Relationship Therapy, Inner Peace Therapy, Characterological Growth and EFT (working with Trauma from an EFT/Attachment Perspective). She sees individuals with a variety of issues and concerns and, together with her husband, Raymond, does Couples Therapy.  She is the co-author (with Raymond) of "Mindful Matrimony".

Furugh graduated in Sociology at the National University of Iran receiving an award from the queen for finishing top in her class. She received her Masters Degree in Intercultural Education at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. She lived in Africa for ten years. She has worked in Swaziland, Lesotho and Zambia where she was the director of the William Masehla Institute. In 1994 she moved to Hungary with her husband, Raymond, and children Nasim and Nabil. 

Furugh is presently director of  development projects for the Unity in Diversity Foundation in Hungary. She has gained international recognition as Founder and Director of the Your Story (Meséd) Project which works with Roma and other disadvantaged women to improve their literacy and life skills in order to become better able at educating their children.
The Your Story Project has spread outside of Hungary as well, transforming the lives of hundreds of Roma women and their children in  Slovakia, Romania, Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Kosovo. 

​Furugh received the "Aranyanyu Dij" Award (for making significant contribution to society) in 2015 and the "Superbrand" Award (for the most innovative educational program) in 2016 for her work with the Roma.

She has given presentations to governmental organizations and agencies in Hungary, Brussels, Bratislava, Sofia and the Hague on the subjects of women, early childhood development , and inter-cultural challenges. Together with her husband, Raymond, she has conducted workshops and led seminars on Conscious Courtship, Couplehood and Parenting in Germany, Austria, Spain, Croatia, Italy, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Luxembourg, Poland, Malta, Kosovo, England, Portugal, the Netherlands, Cyprus, Canada and Norway.
