Couples therapy with Raymond and Furugh

Ruptures in our relationships to others, especially the struggles with our life partner, often seem to be the most painful experiences in our lives. Although these trials may seem to us the most entrenched, and impossible to work through, there is a purpose to these conflicts: they provide us with a beacon for our maturation and healing from the past. While marriage seems almost designed to bring us to the brink of despair, it presents potent opportunities for growth, self-realization and deep satisfaction. We offer therapy for struggling couples and coaching programs for couples wanting to enrich their relationship.
Raymond and Furugh are both trained in Imago Therapy and find that working together with couples adds to the power of the therapeutic experience. Couples often find that the insights given from both a male and female perspective and experience add important dimensions to their understanding. In addition, having a live model of a couple exhibiting differentiation and unity in working together signal hope and can add to confidence in couplehood, a crucial element in healing marriages in distress.
Intensive couples sessions
Raymond and Furugh have come to regard intensive sessions with couples as their most powerful tool to help couples shift their negative, entrenched patterns and gain a solid feel for a healthy functioning relationship. They originally started doing intense, two or three day sessions, with couples in order to accommodate those who live abroad and have to travel long distances to have in-person sessions. This kind of intensive work has proved to be so powerful that they now recommend it to most couples who want to get their marriage on a new track. For those who come from abroad and need follow-up work, Skype sessions are used, sometimes punctuated with further intense, in-person, work as needed.

Individual therapy with Raymond

Since the publication of his book, Conscious Courtship, the greater amount of his individual therapy work is now helping single men and women overcome unconscious blocks and dysfunctional behaviors that keep them from finding a marriage partner. He has been providing this service to clients from all over the world on Skype.
Raymond continues to work with other individuals in a variety of areas such as grief and loss, stress, depression, recovering from divorce, and parenting. Like many therapists trained in North America, he uses a variety of approaches, including cognitive behavioral, client centered, and logo therapy, but sees all his work within framework of living in healthy connection.

Coaching sessions with Furugh

Furugh is trained in Imago Therapy and has explored a wide variety of other approaches to working with couples and individuals. Much of her work with women involves helping them find their own sense of value and dignity, whether single, in a relationship or on the path to finding a partner. She has a vast experience of cross-cultural work and helps individuals from many backgrounds move into making life work in "foreign" and "new" settings and situations. She works in English, Persian and Hungarian languages.
